Interactive Video Conferencing (IVC)

Courses: For over 15 years, NCSSM instructors have provided a variety of Honors and Advanced Placement courses in high school science and mathematics to enhance the educational experiences for students throughout the state of North Carolina. Using cutting edge technologies and broadcasting from four NCSSM studios equipped with sophisticated videoconference equipment, NCSSM teachers interact with students at distant sites in a real time fashion while utilizing learning management systems, integrated webinar tools and video streaming. Schools which sign up for these courses usually have small numbers of students who are academically ready to participate in the rigorous courses, yet do not have teachers who can teach the course or the ability to allocate the teacher assignment. NCSSM personnel who conduct the courses are highly trainedin instructional technologies and their application to content areas. A school can set up an IVC room using low cost equipment and connectivity to NCSSM is at no cost. Current STEM course offerings are:
