22-23. Paper Folding: Maximizing the Area of a Triangle – (October 2003)
By folding a corner of an 8.5 by 11 inch paper to an edge, students fold triangles with the paper in two different positions. By measuring, students collect data, and using geometry students develop a model that fits the data. From this model they determine the dimensions of the triangle with largest area.
